How Do You Measure A Shower Door Sweep?
When buying a shower door sweep, you have two measure two dimensions: length and thickness.
Measuring length is easy. If you buy a new shower door, the length is probably on the box. Otherwise, you can use a tape to measure from side to side.
When it comes to thickness, shower doors come in four sizes:
1/4” (6mm)
5/16” (8mm)
3/8” (10mm)
1/2” (12mm)
This measurement describes the depth of the door. Use your tape to measure to figure out which shower door sweep you need.
How Do You Clean The Rubber Seal On A Shower Door?
Honestly, the rubber seal around your shower door is one of the grosses parts of your home. It’s covered in mold, mildew, and soap build-up. No one enjoys cleaning it.
Unfortunately, you’ve gotta do it. Otherwise, the mold just continues to build up.

Step #1
Run a gallon hot water into a bucket. Make it as hot as you can without burning your hands. Mix in a cup of bleach.
Step #2
Use a toothbrush to apply the mixture to the seal. Scrub the rubber thoroughly. Make sure to hit every crevice and corner.
Step #3
Once you’ve removed all of the scum, use a sponge or washcloth to rinse the surface.
Step #4
If there is any leftover residue, use a 1-1 mixture of water and vinegar to clean the rest. This helps to polish it up and remove any smells from the surface.
How To Fix A Leaky Shower Door Sweep?
Ensure the shower head is not facing toward the door.
Make sure the caulking along the edges of the doors edges are not completely worn away.
If the doorsill is not positioned correctly, reposition the doorsill and make sure there are no leaks when you turn the water on also.
