Colorful Mirror Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding the Individuality of Color:

  • Dye lot: Mirror is made in small batches a sheets, which are then cut into finished sizes. The color form sheet to sheet may vary slightly. If you have multiple pieces that will be side-by-side, make sure you let us know so that we can make sure to make each piece from the same batch.

  • From Screen to Reality: While digital representations offer a glimpse into our vibrant spectrum, remember that monitors cannot fully capture the depth and nuance of our colors. Expect some variation in tone and vibrancy compared to what you see online.

  • Surface Impefections: Due to the hand-coloring process, some minor surface imperfections may be present. This is expected and unavoidable.

Thickness:

  • Strength in Thickness: The minimum thickness of our colored glass and mirrors is 5/16", providing ample durability for most applications. However, larger pieces exceeding 6 square feet may require increased thickness for structural integrity.

  • Reflection Realities: Lighter colors generally offer clearer reflections, while darker colors like blue, red, and green might exhibit a slight double image effect due to inherent pigment properties.

Samples:

  • We strongly recommend ordering sample swatches for a small fee before committing to larger pieces. This allows you to experience the subtle variations in color, texture, and reflection firsthand, ensuring alignment with your expectations and design goals. By seeing and feeling the material upfront, you can make confident, informed decisions that enhance your satisfaction with the final product.
